Biography
Curt Metzgar has been practicing law
since 1986. He joined the firm as a law clerk in 1985.
Curt has drafted over 1,000 coverage
opinions and has prosecuted hundreds of declaratory relief actions regarding
liability insurance coverage, including dozens of court trials.
Curt has also handled all aspects of
bad faith litigation in matters arising out of liability insurance coverage
disputes. He is intimately familiar with the law relating to breach of a
liability insurer's duty to defend and/or indemnify. One of his strengths is
the ability to review, organize and synthesize large volumes of documents
and to prepare short and concise legal analyses, both in client
correspondence and in legal papers.
As a corollary to Curt's insurance
coverage and bad faith practice, he has prosecuted or defended some 20
appeals. He has four published opinions, including one with the California
Supreme Court.
Curt is a member of the Southern
California Association of Defense Counsel. He is also a member of the
California State Bar and has been admitted to practice in all U.S. District
Courts in the state of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. |
