Biography
Jim Crandall, a founder of the firm, has
been practicing law since 1971. Jim has served as lead counsel in 148 jury trials. He has also argued cases in the California Supreme
Court, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the California Appellate
Courts.
A member of the American Board of Trial
Advocates and was recently elevated to the highest level, Diplomat.
In March 2003, Jim was elected to
membership in
the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is composed of the top 1% of
attorneys from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is
by invitation, extended only after careful investigation, to those
experienced trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill as
advocates and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest
standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and civility.
Jim was honored by being named a
"Southern California Super Lawyer" for the last three years. This
identifies him as being one of the "top 5%" and the "crème de la crème" of
the Southern California Bar. In addition, Jim was voted by his peers
as one of Orange County's top 50 lawyers.
In addition to his trial work, Jim
provides consulting services on bad faith litigation defense strategy,
witness preparation and trial tactics.
Jim is a member of the American Bar
Association (Torts & Insurance Practice Section), the Orange County Bar
Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (Board
Member 1991-1992). He is also a member of the Federation of Insurance & Corporate Counsel (Chair of the
Extra-Contractual Committee 1999-2000).
Jim has presented many seminars and
practical demonstrations of trial techniques to the Orange County Trial
Lawyers Association, the Los Angeles County Trial Lawyers Association, the
Los Angeles Bar Association, The Orange County Bar Association (Insurance
Section), the Calif. C.E.B., The Rutter Group, The Federation of Insurance &
Corporate Counsel, the Southern California Defense Counsel Association and
the American Practice Institute.
Jim is a pilot and is a member of the
American Bonanza Society, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and
the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association.
In December 2003, Jim was on the cover of Verdict Magazine and featured in
an article on lawyer pilots.
Jim volunteers as a member of the
Orange County Sheriff Dept. Aero Squadron. |
