Victor joined the firm as a lateral partner in 2001. During his
tenure, he has managed, supervised and litigated mass tort litigation
arising out of the statutorily revived Northridge Earthquake claims.
He has been responsible for the day to day handling and supervision of
over 300 active Northridge Earthquake cases, including the coordination of
every aspect of the litigation. These cases involved technical issues of
construction, geology, seismic earth movement and occasionally exposure to
toxic mold.
Of the more than 1200 Earthquake
related cases asserted against his Homeowner carrier client Victor tried
to a defense verdict, the only case of this group to go to trial in Los
Angeles County. During this time, Victor has also successfully
maintained and litigated defense cases in the areas of Health and Life
Insurance, Unfair Business Practices, Wrongful Death, Fraud, Negligence,
Products Liability and Premises Liability.

Victor began his legal career as an associate in the firm where he gained
a solid foundation in a wide variety of tort related cases involving
numerous fortune 500 companies and Hollywood Celebrities. He tried his
first case to a defense verdict during his second year of practice. In
1988 he co-tried his first asbestos (living mesothelioma) case. While at
the Haight firm, Victor was on the asbestos trial team. Victor was
lead trial counsel representing numerous asbestos producers of insulation
materials, wall board, spiral wound gaskets, joint compounds, etc.
Victor has been lead trial counsel in
over 50 trials involving toxic exposure, asbestos, breach of contract, bad
faith, misappropriation of name and likeness, unfair business practices,
wrongful termination, trespass and nuisance, defamation, premises
liability, wrongful death and fraud. Victor was elected into the
partnership 1991and remained with the firm until 2001.

Ever
mindful of the fact that most defense clients are involuntary participants
in the legal system, Mr. Anderson has built his reputation on the ability
to access the sensitive needs of both insurance and corporate clients,
addressing the resolution of conflicts through mediation, settlement, or
trial if necessary. He has an outstanding rate of effectively resolving
matters either through summary judgment or defense award/verdict.
Honors
and Memberships
While an undergraduate, Victor was a participant in the Western State
Collegiate Debate Championship, a Bronze Medalist in the Presidents
Bicentennial Youth Debates and a Gold Medalist in the California State
Debate Competition. Victor further distinguished himself as the
recipient of a full academic scholarship to the University of Southern
California, Law Center 1980-1983.
Victor Anderson is a member of the Los
Angeles County Bar Association, the Santa Monica Bar Association and the
Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (Committee Chairman
1997-1999). He is also a member of the John M. Langston Bar Association
and has served as a member of its Board of Directors. Victor has served
as a Vice President, member of the Board of Directors and Board of
Governors for the Boys & Girls Club of Venice. He recently received the
honor of being inducted into the Federation of Defense and Corporate
Counsel.

sailing, traveling, judo, karate, table tennis, fishing, cycling,
competitive darts, theater, and antiques.
